Mark Preston is a Canadian First Nations artist representing the Tlingit people.
Mark Preston was born in Dawson City, Yukon, Canada in the year 1960.
The artist is very versatile in his use of mediums working as a painter, printmaker, and glass artist, and jewelry maker.
The artist is currently based out of Vancouver, British Columbia.
What I enjoy most about Preston’s art are his compositions. The artist takes some direction from classic First Nations Art, but he adds items found in classical Eastern art such as a flowers or birds.
Preston’s style is a great example of First Nations Art with a Modernist twist.
