Richard Long is a British artist working in many mediums but he is most famous for his land art. Richard Long was born in Bristol, England in the year 1945.
Long attended the West of England College of Art. He finished his collegiate career at the Saint Martin’s School of Art located in London, England.
Some common themes of his work are photography, text, and maps of landscapes the artist has walked over. On many occasions Long uses objects he finds on his walks in his artwork.
The artist was on the short list for the Turner Prize in 1989.
Long’s work is part of the permanent collection of the Tate Museum.
Price range information: Works range from $20,000 to $200,000.

My favorite works of this artist are his images that shows a large shape (an example would be the outline of the shape of the African continent, made up of many small feet or hands. Very unique!
