Lawrence Weiner is a Conceptual artist renown for his use of text in his art. Lawrence Weiner was born in the Bronx, New York in the year 1942. His father owned and operated a candy store.
Weiner briefly attended Hunter College in New York City. He left after one year and worked various jobs including unloading boats and railroad cars.
