What I enjoy about this artist is his willingness to paint anything. I have seen many scenes of people skating on ice, but the artist puts a contemporary twist by adding some street art graffiti to the composition.

Dorland’s work is also contemporary in his use of very bright colors he uses for light. It becomes even more expressive when he piles on the paint in a manner that is reminiscent of Joaquin Sorolla.
