The artist burst onto the international scene after a well received show that took place in 1962. She all but fell off the art map but has stepped into the limelight again after some very positive retrospectives of her career.

Escobar was a great friend of Andy Warhol.

As she grew older the artist became known as Marisol.

Escobar is hard to associate with one style because the artist experimented with so many different movements including Dadaism, Cubism, and collage. What a great blend of cultures with a wonderful result!
