Suhas Bhujbal is a contemporary painter from India who paints the urban landscape. Suhas Bhujbal was born in Narayangaon, Maharashtra, India in the year 1977.

Bhujbal earned a B.F.A. in illustration from Maharashtra State. The artist went on to earn a M.F.A. from the Academy of Art University located in San Francisco, California.

Price range information: Works range from $5,000 to $20,000. The artist works with oils on canvas.

Bhujbal was asked to create a poster for the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. In this clip he talks about this experience. A few select works are also shown:

The artist spent his early childhood in a small village. This actually helped the artist a great deal when he was a child. There wasn’t much to do so he would go around and watch master artisans perform their crafts such as sculptors, carpenters, and quilt makers.

When the artist was nine years old his family moved to a large urban city. As he didn’t have many friends in his new environment painting became his release.

Bhujbal has recently began working with the figure in addition to his architectural based works.

I enjoy the palette and loose brushwork of this artist.
