Dan Tauge is a contemporary photographer. Tague most renown work are his photographs of crumpled and folded paper currency that is cleverly folded to impress a message upon the viewer. Dan Tague was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in the year 1974.
Tague attended the University of New Orleans where he earned both a B.F.A. and M.F.A. degree.
The artist enjoys the power of holding the product of capitalism in his hand and manipulating it the way he sees fit to convey his message.
Tague came to the idea of folding bills after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. He was waiting for help to arrive and in mean time began to fold paper to keep from going crazy!
