Fred Sandback was an American sculptor associated with the Minimalist movement. Fred Sandback was born in Bronxville, New York in the year 1943. The artist attended Yale University located in New Haven, Connecticut where he earned a B.A. , B.F.A., and an M.F.A.
Sandback created paintings, drawings, and installations. Most installations were composed of yarn that made the viewer pay attention to the shapes the yarn created.
