Marianne Nicolson is a contemporary First Nations artist of Scottish and Kwakwaka’wakw Nation and the Dzawada’enuxw Tribe descent. Marianne Nicolson was born in Comex, Canada in the year 1969.
Nicolson earned a B.F.A. from Emily Carr University of Design located in Vancouver, British Columbia. Nicolson went on to postgraduate studies earning a M.F.A. and a Masters in Linguistics from the University of Victoria.

I enjoy the work of Marianne Nicolson for the fact she is so well educated about First Nations traditions. Her work is a contemporary statement on traditional First Nations culture that has existed for centuries.
