Shahzia Sikander is a contemporary painter of fantasy and surreal scenes. Shahzia Sikander was born in Lahore, Pakistan in the year 1969. The artist works in many mediums including painting, drawing, installations, and performance and video art.
Sikander earned a B.F.A. from the National College of Art located in Lahore, Paksitan. Whilst at this institution she studied the art of painting in the Persian miniature style.The artist went on to earn a M.F.A. from the Rhode Island College of Design.
The artist has been included in shows at the Whitney Museum of New York City.
Price range information: Works range from $5,000 to $50,000. Sikander works with watercolor, gouache, acrylics, and as a printmaker.
