Below a brief glimpse at a documentary being filmed about Lance Letscher:
Letscher uses many items for his collages including wood, old book recipe and poetry books, notebooks, diaries, record album covers, and newspaper clippings.
The artist often uses masonite board for his support.
Letscher is based out of Austin, Texas.
What I enjoy most about this artist is the many different subjects he uses for collage material. From recipe books to newspaper clippings, Letscher is making a great statement about current Pop culture.
After viewing the work in person of the famed Joseph Cornell earlier last month at the Denver Art Museum, Letscher’s work is very similar to Cornell’s assemblage works.
