Lygia Clark was a Brazilian painter, sculptor, and installation artist. Lygia Clark was born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil in the year 1920. A main theme in her work was feelings. Clark enjoyed creating installations that got the viewer to participate.

She studied at in Brazil with a well known artist and architect named Roberto Marx. She went on to study in Paris with other well known artists including Fernand Leger.

The artist was part of the teaching faculty at the Sorbonne in France.

Clark is associated with the Constructivist movement.

The artist was a multiple participant in the Venice Biennial.

Lygia Clark had a heart attack at her house and passed away in 1988.
