Winifred Knights was a British painter who worked in modernist style. Winifred Knights was born in south of London, England in the year 1899.
Knights attended the Slade School of Art located in London.
One of the artist’s most famous works is a piece titled “the Deluge.” This work is a view on Noah’s Ark. Knights often used religion as a subject matter in her art. The work was done in competition for a scholarship for study in Rome.
Winifred Knights passed away from complications of a brain tumor in 1947, she was 47 years of age.
