Edelman attended Skidmore College located in Saratoga Springs, New York where she earned a B.F.A. The artist went on to earn a M.F.A. from Yale University.
Two artists that inspire her work are Elizabeth Peyton and Caspar David Friedrich. Other influences include Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Paul Cezanne.
