The French Impressionist painter Claude Monet’s Grainstack sold for $81, 447, 500 at an auction ran by Christies.
Monet painted 25 images of grainstacks. 19 are now part of museum collections.

Another world record was set for the oldest living painter included in the auction, Carmen Herrera, the Cuban born painter who is 101 years of age. She had an image titled ” Cerulean” that went for $970,000.
Great to see Carmen Herrera is having the zenith of her career at the age of 101. Grandma Moses would be impressed!
