Gary Hume is a contemporary painter renown for portraying subjects using high gloss industrial paint. Gary Hume was born in Tenterden, Kent, England in the year 1962. Hume attended Goldsmith’s College located in London, England.
One series that was well received was based on life size paintings of hospital doors. These works brought world wide attention and also the caught the eye of renown collector and art enthusiast Charles Saatchi.
The artist has studios in London, England and Accord, New York.
Gary Hume was part of the Young British Artists group in the 1990’s.
