Nele Azevedo is a contemporary sculptor from the country of Brazil. Nele Azevedo was born in Santos DuMont, MG, Brazil in the year 1952. Azevedo is renown for her miniature sculptures which are placed around the globe to show the effects of climate change and global warming.

Azevedo attended Santa Marcelina College where she earned a B.F.A. The artist went on to earn a masters degree in the visual arts from São Paulo State University.

One work that brought Azevedo international acclaim was when the artist carved 1,000 small characters out of ice and placed them outside of a concert hall located in Berlin, Germany. The work was done to try and raise awareness for global warming and the melting ice caps.
