Simone Leigh is an American contemporary sculptor. Simone Leigh was born in Chicago, Illinois in the year 1967.
The artist is inspired by the experience of being an African-American woman and documenting this experience.
Leigh attended Earlham College located in Richmond, Virginia. She studied art and philosophy.

Simone Leigh is a wonderful sculptor. Her parents were from Jamaica and this shows through in her creations of the female bust. The viewer easily forms the picture of a beach princess complete with a tiara of flowers!
