Sidney Jonas Budnick was an American abstract painter. Sidney Jonas Budnick was born in New York City in the year 1921.

Budnick earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology located in Chicago. The artist went on to earn a master of architecture degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. His teachers at both institutions were part of the Bauhaus movements.

One artist who inspired Budnick was Piet Mondrian. Budnick was a fan of the De Stijl movement.

Budnick worked as an architect for the Department of Parks and Recreation for the State of California.

Sidney Budnick passed away in 1994.
