The process of Moreland begins with a paper card stock model of a painting he hopes to execute. The final works are created by hinging wood panels together with tacks.
Below we catch up with the great James Kalm to view an exhibition of work by Moreland:
The artist is now based out of Los Angeles, California.
Moreland’s work has elements of many movements. As the variance of light changes depending how the surface is tilted, we get various shades of color giving the viewer a sense of tonalism.
The artist paints with acrylic and a gel medium.

We have the minimalist style represented by a rigid geometric shape such as a rectangle that has more than 4 sides when seen from the side.
Moreland’s style could also be imagined as a piece of pool side or balcony chaise.
What a great sense of creativity the artist shows!
