Kiki Kogenik was an Austrian painter, sculptor, and printmaker who is regarded as the country’s most famous in the genre of Pop Art. Kiki Kogelnik was born in Bleiburg, Austria in the year 1935.

Kogelnik attended the Academy of Fine Arts located in Vienna, Austria.

Two recurring themes in the artist’s work are space travel and the human figure.

Price range information: The artist was a prolific printmaker creating many etchings and silkscreen prints. She also painted in oils and acrylics. Works range from $5,000 to $50,000.

The Austrian post office created a 55 cent stamp using Kogelnik’s artwork.

Kiki Kogelnik passed away from cancer complications in 1997. She was 62 years of age.

What a great use of color Kogelnik used. Remember this was as a time when acrylics were just beginning. The artist also showed a keen sense of graphic design creating interesting patterns.
