Alexander Kosolapov is a contemporary painter and sculptor from Russia. Alexander Kosolapov was born in Moscow, Russia in the year 1943.

Kosolapov attended the Stroganov Art and Design College located in Moscow,  where he studied sculpture.

The artist emigrated to the United States in 1975.  When he came to the United States he became a fan of Andy Warhol.

Kosolapov helped to found a movement called Sots-Art. His style blends the voice of the American consumer with the past of Lenin’s Russia.

Price range information: The artist works in oils, acrylics, and bronze. Kosolapov is also an avid printmaker. Prices range from $2,000 to $90,000.

The artist is based out of New York City and Moscow.
