World renown artist Ai WeiWei’s piece dedicated to the flight of refugees will be on display soon in Prague, Czechoslovakia at the country’s National Gallery of Art.
For years the artist wasn’t allowed to leave China, but in 2015 Ai WeiWei was able to travel again. WeiWei did research by studying refugees in Greece. He also traveled to see firsthand the detention centers along the U.S. and Mexico border.
Ai WeiWei plays to release a movie showing the plight of refugees in the summer of 2017.
This work is very large. The boat is 230 feet long and includes 258 faceless figures.
