Valérie Anex is one of the most exciting contemporary photographers in the world. Her Ghost Estate series is intriguing as it deals with modern architectural styles that were built but never used. Her work shows us something from the past that remains a part of current culture, ghost towns.
When many people think of ghost towns the vision could be that of an older city that housed people from a gold rush or oil boom. The idea of many people coming to a location and remaining there for decades, or until the fad passed. Anex shows us that ghost towns exist that never had any people live in them, a very thought provoking idea.
