Phil Gray is a contemporary artist from Canada. Phil Gray was born in and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia in the year 1983. The artist represents the Tsimshian and Mikisew Cree nations.
Gray began carving at the age of 15.
The artist recieved an award from the Canadian government for his artistic achievements.
Gray began working with wood in 1999. He creates totem poles, masks,drums, and sculptures. He enjoys working with cedar, alder, and boxwood.
Gray has studied with two other First Nations masters, Haidi artist Robert Davidson and Salish artist Gerry Sheena.
