Princess Fahrelnissa Zeid was a Turkish artist and member of the Royal Family. Zeid was in Istanbul, Turkey in the year 1901. Zeid was one of the first women to attended the Fine Arts Academy of Istanbul, Turkey.
Zeid’s work was a fantastic blend of Eastern and Western influences.
The artist worked as a painter, collage artist, and also with stained glass.
Zeid was married first to a novelist with whom she had two children. After her first marriage ended Zeid married into the Hashemite royal family of Iraq. She is the mother to Prince Ra’ad, the current heir to the throne in Iraq.
Princess Zeid opened up her own Art Academy in Amman, Jordan.
